About The Position

McCormick is seeking to hire a Machine Operator - Production Technician immediately at their Hunt Valley Plant. This role operates under direct general supervision, utilizing a total task, team-based approach to manage raw, packaging, and finished goods within a department using both mechanical and manual methods. Flexibility in shift and workday assignments is required to meet business needs and minimize overtime. A potential work schedule could be Sunday through Thursday.

Requirements

  • Under direct general supervision, positively operates under a total task, team-based approach to move raw, packaging, and finished goods to, from and within a department using mechanical and manual means.
  • Ability to move up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis and on an occasional basis move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to read and interpret standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and Safety and Quality documentation.
  • Ability to perform basic math functions.
  • Ability to obtain PIT Certification for Walking Stacker.
  • Results-focused with ability to self-motivate and work under limited supervision.
  • Demonstrated experience working effectively and accurately in a high volume, fast paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate and build relationships in a diverse team-based environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to use logical thinking and independent judgment to solve problems.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated ability to read, navigate and interpret multiple computerized data collection, data entry and inventory control systems

Responsibilities

  • Execute multiple product changeovers per shift to target.
  • Perform packaging size changes, minor repairs and adjustments on equipment.
  • Operate, process, fill and package materials on production line equipment.
  • Perform consistent quality inspection of products.
  • Pack and palletize finished goods in a safe manner.
  • Accurately complete all related paperwork.
  • Use computerized inventory management system to select orders and input data.
  • Maintain accurate inventories.
