About The Position

The Machine Operator-Laser position involves operating steel fabrication equipment, specifically a laser. The role includes loading and unloading materials, preparing workpieces, cleaning the work area and equipment, and performing other routine duties as assigned. This position requires physical stamina, including the ability to lift up to 50 lbs, climb onto chassis, and stand for extended periods. The role also necessitates working weekends and overtime as needed.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must have experience running a laser.
• Ability to read and interpret a tape measure and read and comprehend work order specifications.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to climb onto chassis.
• Must be able to stand for 10 hours.
• Must be able to work weekends and overtime.

Nice To Haves

• Basic mechanical and tools (wrench, screwdriver, drills, etc.) knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Operator steel fabrication equipment (Laser)
• Lifts, positions, and removes work pieces from machines to assist in fitting and welding.
• Loads, stacks, and transports stock, tools, dies and work in process by hand or truck.
• Attaches rope or grappling equipment to work pieces to prepare work for moving by crane.
• Cleans and scrapes metal preparatory to fabricating, welding, painting, or shipping.
• Picks up and trucks scrap from work area.
• Cleans work area, machines, tools and equipment
• Performs other routine duties
• Other duties may be assigned.
