The Machine Operator III maintains safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations. This role involves operating various machines within a cell, making minor adjustments as necessary, and notifying leads or setup personnel for more significant adjustments. The operator is responsible for maintaining a clean and organized work area, performing preventative maintenance such as lubricating machines, and making minor repairs while notifying maintenance for other needs. Additional duties include performing tasks like counting, cleaning, returning gauges and fixtures, and transferring parts. The role requires using measuring equipment to maintain close tolerances, following schedules and procedures, and adapting to cell and team concepts, including cross-training. Ensuring all safety guards are in place and in good condition is crucial. The operator will also assist other operators if necessary and inspect work in progress using necessary equipment outlined in quality or work instructions, taking responsibility for the quality of their own work. Forklift operation is also a requirement, along with other assigned duties.
