About The Position

The Machine Operator II is an experienced position responsible for operating low-to-mid complex machinery under moderate supervision. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting basic machine issues, and supporting the training of new operators. This individual is responsible for ensuring the machine produces high-quality products, runs smoothly and at capacity, and is properly maintained.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous machine operating or manufacturing experience, or equivalent on-the-job training, with demonstrated proficiency in operating machinery preferred.
  • Ability to work independently with moderate supervision while maintaining attention to detail
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team and assist less experienced operators
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills to document findings and provide training support
  • Basic problem-solving skills to address machine and process issues
  • Commitment to adhere to safety protocols and quality standards with a focus on continuous improvement
  • U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (Green Card holder) or asylee/refugee status as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3) required.
  • ITAR Requirement

Responsibilities

  • Operating low-to-mid complexity machinery following standard instructions and adjusting settings for minor variations.
  • Conduct regular maintenance and troubleshoot basic machine issues to ensure continuous operation.
  • Assist in training new operators on standard machine operations, providing hands-on guidance and demonstrating proper setup and safety procedures.
  • Read and comprehended technical drawings to understand machining requirements and ensure alignment with production goals.
  • Develop a basic understanding of G-code programming to support machine setup and minor adjustments.
  • Gain basic material knowledge of aerospace materials to select appropriate inputs for specific machining tasks.
  • Conduct in-process inspections to monitor product quality, identifying issues like improper cuts, insulation damage, misalignment, etc. and reporting them promptly.
  • Assist in loading and unloading raw materials into machines, verifying quantities and types against documentation under moderate oversight.
  • Clean and maintain equipment under moderate supervision and troubleshoot any issues that arise to a lead or supervisor.
  • Utilize basic computers skills to enter data into production systems and access work orders as guided by supervisors.
  • Maintain an organized work area by keeping aisles clear, properly storing materials, and adhering to safety and organizational standards.
  • Follow all safety protocols and participate in safety training sessions.
  • Follow safety protocols by wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) and participating in safety training to prevent workplace hazards.
