About The Position

Springs Fabrication is currently seeking a qualified 1st shift Machine Operator II / III to run our press brake machine. Candidates will be given a shop math assessment at time of interview. Potential candidates should have reliable transportation and strong work ethic. SUMMARY: Performs simple set-up and operation of machinery in the Processing Group i.e. Saw, Press Brake, Tube Laser, and Rolls.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or at least two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Previous plate forming experience.
• Ability to perform machine setup, read tooling lists, blueprints and manufacturing documentation.
• Ability to use standard measuring equipment to measure dimensions and tolerances.
• Ability to organize work and communicate effectively with coworkers.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
• Ability to answer questions effectively before small groups of customers or departmental meetings.
• Ability to read blueprints and understand dimensional tolerances.
• Ability to convert decimals to fractions and fractions to decimals.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
• Ability to perform general algebra and geometry.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
• Regularly required to sit and talk or hear.
• Frequently required to stand and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
• Occasionally required to walk and reach with hands and arms.
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of ETS 3000 and Accurpress operation is highly desired

Responsibilities

• Start and observe machine operation to detect malfunctions, adjust machine controls and offsets.
• Make spot checks of completed parts to ensure that machine is holding tolerances.
• Processes all paperwork according to Standard Operating Procedures.
• Keeps work area neat and organized at all times to promote an image of quality and a safe environment.
• Ability to learn the safe operation of overhead cranes.
• Other related duties as assigned.
