About The Position

The Rough Mill operator will be responsible for sorting boards by width as received from automated chop saws and sorts by width and length on carts. This is an onsite position in Archdale, NC, with a pay range of $17-$18 per hour depending on experience. The shift is Monday-Thursday, 6:30 am - 4:30 pm.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Effectively uses required PPE and company approved tools with awareness of surroundings and potential safety hazards while maintaining a safe work area.
• Demonstrates the ability to safely manage awkward product lengths and weights.
• Demonstrates ability to read, comprehend and execute verbal commands, written procedures, basic math, and standard work instructions.
• Follow all safety rules and guidelines according to OSHA standard and company policies.
• Flexibility in scheduling – able to work overtime as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in manufacturing environment.
• Prior experience operating woodworking equipment and proven safety record.

Responsibilities

• Follows instructions of lead person for number of carts and pallets needed.
• Sorts blanks as they are received from the chop saw.
• Notifies lead person when a cart needs to be changed out and assist.
• Maintains work pace required to achieve production demands.
• Maintains good housekeeping practices.
• May also mark boards received from gang rip saw and feed automated chop saws.
• May cross-train for other responsibilities.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
