The Engineering Technician will support the New Product Development (NPD) design team through hands-on prototype build support, PCB-level testing and troubleshooting, and full system-level validation. This role bridges design engineering and manufacturing by ensuring new designs are thoroughly tested, issues are identified early, and design improvements are clearly documented. The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly with electronics hardware, test equipment, and cross-functional engineering teams in a fast-paced development environment. Support NPD engineers during the design, build, and test phases of new products Perform functional testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of printed circuit boards (PCBs) at the component, board, and subassembly level Execute system-level testing of integrated electromechanical assemblies, including power, controls, communications, and I/O Assemble and modify electronic and electromechanical prototypes, including wiring, cable harnesses, and control panels Use common lab equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, signal generators, and logic analyzers Identify design-related issues, document failures, and provide detailed feedback to design engineers Assist with design verification, validation testing, and environmental or stress testing as required Create and update supporting documentation such as test procedures, test reports, and build instructions Process engineering change notices (ECNs) and assist with prototype BOMs and material releases Collaborate effectively with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain teams to support design intent and manufacturability
