About The Position

Ditch Witch is hiring a Machine Operator I for Plant 3 on the night shift, starting at $20.89 per hour. The employee operates one or more production machines, which may include lathes, mills, drills, saws, automatic welders, benders, punches, shears, flame-cutting equipment, high-definition and plasma equipment, lasers, heat-treatment equipment, and shot-blast machines. As a cross-functional team member, the employee may also assemble components and perform other assigned duties. The work takes place indoors in a manufacturing plant with variable temperature and humidity, noise, and dirt. Potential hazards include vehicle, bicycle, and pedestrian traffic; sharp objects; moving machinery; electrical arc-welding equipment; materials handling; and hazardous materials such as coolant, solvents, oils, grease, and pressurized gases.

Requirements

Be familiar with and have basic experience using mechanical repair and assembly tools, including wrenches, screwdrivers, and pliers.
Have appropriate reading, clerical, and basic math skills, including the ability to understand written instructions, maintain production records, and calculate sums, differences, and fractions.

Nice To Haves

Experience or training in welding, machining, mechanical repair, or operating metalworking machinery.

Responsibilities

Set up, adjust, and operate production equipment while monitoring machine performance and carrying out operations in the proper sequence.
Set up fixtures and mount parts in fixtures or components.
Perform mechanical assembly using hand and air tools.
Use a computer to check parts location, inventory, and routing, and maintain production records.
May read information from blueprints.
Assemble components and perform other duties as assigned.
