About The Position

Performs operations in the rough finishing line, including cut off, sandblast, knock out, trim cut, and grind. The operator maintains, adjusts, and operates rough finishing equipment; follows safety, engineering, and quality requirements; checks work and documentation; reports defects or equipment issues; and keeps the work area clean and orderly. The job requires high school education or equivalent life experience and three to six months of related experience and/or training.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, adjust, and operate rough finishing equipment as required.
• Ensure safety guards and shields are in place before beginning operation.
• Review engineering instructions and part specifications to understand the correct procedures and quality requirements.
• Check routers for the correct part number and master heat number and confirm previous operations are signed off.
• Spot-check cut-off parts for accuracy and inspect for cracks, heat checks, or other damage.
• Contact supervision or engineering before proceeding if damage or a defect is observed.
• Place finished work in the pre-assigned location.
• Report defective equipment to the supervisor.
• Leave the work area clean and orderly at the end of the shift.
