About The Position

This role is responsible for ensuring production processes meet customer expectations by maintaining the operation of a designated line and producing acceptable quality product. The Machine Operator I will work closely with Helpers, Lead Operators, Shift Supervisors, and Quality Control Technicians. A key responsibility is to take ownership of the line when it is down and work towards getting it back up and running under normal conditions. The role also involves performing necessary operator paperwork, entering data into computer systems, and ensuring the quality of all products run on the line.

Requirements

  • Ability to use hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to calibrate machines and understand different systems.
  • Ability to wear all required PPE (steel toed shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, and other PPE as required).
  • Ability to lift up to 65lbs.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders.
  • Knowledge in navigating different computer programs.
  • Ability to communicate with other employees.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all Company policies regarding safety, quality and attendance.
  • Perform duties in a safe manner and report all observed safety hazards to management.
  • Act as a role model for Safety on the shift.
  • Participate in safety programs by reporting Unsafe Conditions, Unsafe Acts and Close Calls; enter Near Miss data and Observations into Global Data Center database (GDC).
  • Maintain operation of designated line.
  • Ability to take ownership of the line when it is down and be responsible for getting the line back up and running under normal running conditions.
  • Responsible for housekeeping that is due for completion by the end of the shift.
  • Ability to do all operator paperwork, key information into the computer system, and be responsible for all products run on the line.
  • Ability to understand the process and operation of the equipment.
  • Perform adjustments to machine as required for orders or to troubleshoot issues.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems on all parts of the line to manufacture quality products that meet order specifications.
  • Other tasks as assigned by Management, Supervisor or Lead.
