The Production Machine Operator individual performs the basic set up and operates automatic machines in accordance with established shop practices. This role involves performing basic set ups and operating up to three automatic machines to produce parts according to blueprints, router packages, specifications, and/or special instructions. The operator will recognize and detect machine out-of-tolerance issues and adjust controls accordingly, perform basic trial runs to check accuracy, and check parts for conformance to specifications using gauges, SPC, and the shop floor system. Minor machine malfunctioning and in-process inspections are to be handled by the operator, with major discrepancies reported to a lead or supervisor. The role also includes determining and performing proper feed and speed combinations, providing necessary information to the manufacturing and engineering teams, and performing work operations under supervision. Additionally, the operator will check and rework tooling as needed, lay out parts for successive machining operations, examine products for quality standards, and perform record keeping, data entry, housekeeping, and adhere to all safety regulations. Compliance with federal, local, and state government rules, LISI Aerospace policies, and HSE Procedures is mandatory. The position requires attending all provided training, adhering to HSE procedures, policies, and plans, conforming to reporting requirements, and maintaining safe operating procedures. Any known or suspected nonconformance to company procedures or legal requirements must be immediately reported to management. Continuous improvement of HSE performance through objectives, targets, measurement, and reporting is expected, along with participation in waste elimination initiatives.
