About The Position

FN America, LLC is seeking a Machine Operator I to perform operator-level maintenance and operate a variety of conventional and/or basic Computer Numerical Control (CNC) machines. This role involves drilling, tapping, milling, shaping, and forming in the manufacturing of FN America components and products. The position requires adherence to safety protocols, quality standards, and a commitment to continuous improvement within a manufacturing environment.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
No prior experience required.
Basic math skills using whole numbers and decimals in imperial and metric.
Verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to follow policies and procedures.
Ability to meet productivity standards, observe safety and security procedures, and adapt to changes in the work environment.
Knowledge of or ability to learn metal cutting machines (manual and CNC), tools, and inspection methods.
Strong attention to detail.
Fine motor, mechanical, and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

Operate conventional or CNC machines to produce components to required specifications based on print drawings, instructions, and process documents.
Perform milling, drilling, grinding, riveting, and turning operations to close tolerances.
Review Operational Control Sheets (OCS) and specifications to determine machining sequence, tooling requirements, and dimensions.
Execute tool changes on simple operations like drilling and reaming.
Perform inspection and gaging operations to ensure part quality.
Maintain a safe, clean, and healthful working environment in accordance with OSHA requirements and company standards, including proper use of PPE and machine safeguarding.
Record necessary data and production values.
Assist with the implementation of lean principles and continuous improvement initiatives.
Complete preventative maintenance as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
