About The Position

The Machine Operator Helper supports the operation and maintenance of brake presses, punch turrets, and automated laser machines. This role involves assisting with the setup, loading, unloading, and general upkeep of machines to ensure smooth and efficient production processes. The position is for the 3rd shift.

Requirements

  • Accurate reading of tape measures, gauges, and other test equipment.
  • Ability to lift and move materials within the required safety guidelines.
  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Performing repetitive tasks.
  • Basic computer/math skills.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or blueprints.
  • Basic understanding of safety procedures and equipment handling.

Responsibilities

  • Unloading, loading material, and assisting the operator with Brake Presses.
  • Supporting the setup of tooling and dies for Brake Presses.
  • Maintaining cleanliness around the machine area, including tools and equipment.
  • Performing computer data entry.
  • Unloading, palletizing materials, and assisting the operator with Punch Turrets.
  • Ensuring proper labeling for Punch Turrets.
  • Unloading, loading material, and assisting the operator with Automated Lasers.
  • Ensuring proper labeling for Automated Lasers.
  • Accurately reading tape measures, gauges, and other test equipment.
  • Helping set up, load and unload machines and assisting machine operators within the Fabrication Department.
  • Stacking finished product in accordance with manufacturing specifications (e.g., placing bundles coming off of a conveyor into a stacking pattern/unitizing for shipment).
  • Assisting in bending/cutting of raw materials.
  • Participating in reducing waste.
  • Actively participating in team problem-solving processes.
  • Maintaining quality standards.
  • Performing basic mechanical aptitude tasks or demonstrating willingness to learn.
  • Reading and interpreting technical drawings or blueprints.
  • Lifting and moving materials within the required safety guidelines.
  • Standing for extended periods.
  • Performing repetitive tasks.
  • Performing basic computer/math skills.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
