About The Position

The Machine Operator Helper supports the operation and maintenance of brake presses, punch turrets, and automated laser machines. This role involves assisting with the setup, loading, unloading, and general upkeep of machines to ensure smooth and efficient production processes. The position requires accurate reading of tape measures, gauges, and other test equipment, and the ability to help set up, load, and unload machines within the Fabrication Department. Responsibilities include stacking finished product, assisting in bending/cutting of raw materials, participating in waste reduction and problem-solving, and maintaining quality standards. Basic mechanical aptitude or willingness to learn, the ability to read and interpret technical drawings or blueprints (preferred), and a basic understanding of safety procedures and equipment handling are necessary. The role also requires the ability to lift and move materials within safety guidelines, stand for extended periods, perform repetitive tasks, and possess basic computer/math skills. Other duties may be assigned by the Supervisor, and a prescreen assessment is required.

Requirements

Responsibilities

  • Unloading, loading material, and assisting the operator for brake presses, punch turrets, and automated laser machines.
  • Support the setup of tooling and dies for brake presses.
  • Maintain cleanliness around the machine area, including tools and equipment.
  • Perform computer data entry.
  • Unloading, palletizing materials for punch turrets.
  • Ensuring proper labeling for punch turrets and automated laser machines.
  • Stack finished product in accordance with manufacturing specifications.
  • Assist in bending/cutting of raw materials.
  • Participate in reducing waste, actively participate in team problem solving processes, and maintain quality standards.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
