About The Position

The Machine Operator G2 is responsible for successfully completing various tasks within all areas of the press shop, including the robot. Preferably well familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. The operator must be detail-oriented, possess a strong work ethic, display a contagious ability to motivate coworkers, successfully meet the daily goal requirements, and fearless attitude on exceeding company targets.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up, creates programs, troubleshoots and operates all machines in the press shop (including basic robot troubleshooting), in accordance with established safe procedures.
  • Reads and interprets blueprints and diagrams to select, position and secure machinery.
  • Properly uses measuring tools such as tape measures and calipers to review and verify all others work.
  • Adjusts machine settings to complete tasks accurately, according to specifications, and in a timely fashion.
  • Knows set up, start up, and stoppage procedures for all equipment.
  • Works with Supervisor and Lead Hand to ensure that daily productivity targets are met in a timely and safe manner.
  • Demonstrate positive and safe workplace behavior at all time and work as a team in the achievement of daily production targets.
  • Completes a variety of tasks/complex tasks within the department.
  • Comply with company’s EHS guidelines and ensure all required PPE are used while working on the shop floor
  • Focuses on learning additional tasks and ensuring quality at all times.
  • Perform repetitive tasks and handle material up to 5-20 Lbs. for an 8-10 hour shift.
  • Contributes to the overall functioning of the team by maintaining awareness of best practices/emerging issues, both internally and externally, sharing best practices and building effective working relationships across the team and company.
  • Must be able to provide hands on training to new associates.
  • Frequently coordinate with Supervisor/Lead in the achievement of overall plant’s productivity/ efficiency and lead #CI initiatives
  • Strong desire to train in any/all departments.
  • Performs other duties as necessary.
