About The Position

This position is responsible for performing power assisted assembly operations on LINING machines and monitoring production runs/orders through the molding machines, checking for quality, and maintaining a clean work area throughout Assembly, Main Molding and Polycams. The role involves utilizing various instruments like calipers, air hoses, and picks to clear machine jams. The operator will run power-assisted machinery to assemble components such as caps, lining, and spouts, and visually inspect parts for defects. Defective parts are segregated for rework/scrap, with all scrap properly boxed and marked. Completed boxes must be dated, initialed, and returned to Quality Control for testing. Operators are also tasked with changing lining rolls as needed. Key responsibilities include managing up to five presses based on production schedules, hourly quality checks of molded products, grinding runners, checking cappers, and cleaning machine components like tracks, bowls, and conveyors. The position also requires hygrading products for defects, performing quality checks, completing labels, and separating accepted and rejected products. Operators must monitor grinders and presses to ensure production meets specifications and deadlines, and report any issues or defects to a Team Leader, Processor, or Supervisor. Maintaining a neat, orderly, and safe work environment through general housekeeping duties like sweeping and trash removal is also essential.

Responsibilities

  • Perform power assisted assembly operations on LINING machines
  • Monitor production runs/orders through the molding machines
  • Check for quality of products
  • Maintain a clean work area throughout Assembly, Main Molding and Polycams
  • Utilize a variety of instruments such as calipers, air hoses, and picks
  • Use picks to clear jams in the machines
  • Operate power-assisted machinery to assemble components (caps, lining and spouts)
  • Visually inspect parts/assemblies for defects
  • Segregate defective parts/assemblies for rework/scrap
  • Place all scrap in boxes and mark accordingly
  • Date and initial completed boxes and return them to Quality Control for testing
  • Change lining rolls when empty or when the job order changes
  • Attend up to five presses based on production schedules and manufacturing requirements
  • Check all molded products hourly for defects
  • Grind runners and check cappers for runners
  • Clean tracks, bowls, conveyors and upright conveyors as necessary
  • Hygrade product for defects and perform quality checks
  • Complete labels, place on box, and ensure rejected and accepted product is separated
  • Operate and monitor grinders and presses ensuring the product is manufactured in accordance with specifications, schedules and deadlines
  • Report issues/defects to Team Leader/Processor/Supervisor for timely correction and problem solving
  • Maintain a neat and orderly work area, keeping walkways and aisles clear ensuring a safe work environment
  • Perform general housekeeping duties such as sweeping and trash removal
