Machine Operator / CDL Driver
About The Position
Fletcher Development is a premier luxury home builder specializing in high-end properties, renovation projects, and comprehensive estate care. We operate primarily in Fairfield and Westchester counties and pride ourselves on exceptional quality, client service, and operational excellence. We're looking to immediately hire an experienced Heavy Equipment Operator, Laborer, and CDL Driver. This is a hands-on, multi-faceted role for someone who can operate machinery, drive, contribute as a laborer, and help keep our job sites running smoothly. The ideal candidate has real construction experience, takes pride in their work, and brings a dependable, can-do attitude to the team every day. You'll work on job sites across Fairfield and Westchester counties.
Requirements
- Experience operating excavators, skid steers, lulls, and backhoes
- Experience as a laborer and driver in a construction setting
- Ability to maintain, service, and perform light maintenance on equipment and machinery
- Familiarity with CT DOT and industry standards and regulations
- Strong attention to detail in inspections, tests, and documentation
- Proficiency using relevant tools
- Able to perform the physical demands of the role — lifting, climbing, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently with a positive, can-do attitude
- Must pass drug testing, motor vehicle license check, and background check

Responsibilities
- Operate excavators, skid steers, lulls, backhoes, and other heavy equipment for site work including digging, grading, trenching, and backfilling
- Safely operate a dump truck to transport materials, debris, and equipment to and from job sites
- Contribute as a laborer to support crews and keep projects on schedule
- Maintain and service equipment and machinery, and perform light maintenance as needed
- Perform daily equipment inspections and report issues promptly
- Load, secure, and unload materials safely and in compliance with DOT regulations
- Plan, coordinate, and help execute project tasks alongside the on-site team
- Work safely and respectfully on active, high-end residential properties, with care for the client's home and surroundings
- Maintain accurate inspection, test, and equipment documentation
