Trystar is seeking a motivated and driven Busbar Punching and Bending Machine Operator for their Fabrication Department. The operator will be responsible for using specialized machinery to punch and bend busbars according to engineering specifications, playing a vital part in the manufacturing of electrical components and assemblies. Requirements

  • Previous experience as a Busbar Punching and Bending Machine Operator or in a similar role within the electrical manufacturing industry is highly desirable.
  • Experience in machine operation or mechanical ability and aptitude to understand how manufacturing equipment works together in a line to produce high quality products.
  • 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must be able to read, write and comprehend plant directives written in English.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with busbar punching and bending machine operation and basic maintenance tasks.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.
  • Ability to use measuring instruments and maintain accurate records.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Able to pass a pre-employment physical and drug test.
  • Must adhere to all the PPE requirements to perform the job safely, this includes but is not limited to, Eye, Hand, Feet, and Hearing protection.
  • Understanding of safety protocols and the ability to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Perform simple mathematics to comprehend and interpret process sheets, SOP manuals, tally sheets, etc. and to keep accurate account of materials used during manufacturing process including scrap amounts.

  • Additional technical education or vocational training in machine operation or metalworking is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and set up the busbar punching and bending machine by loading appropriate tools, dies, and busbar materials, ensuring proper calibration and alignment.
  • Operate the machine to punch holes or cutouts into busbars according to engineering drawings and specifications, selecting correct tools and adjusting settings.
  • Use the machine to accurately bend busbars to required angles and dimensions, following bending sequences and measurements from engineering drawings.
  • Load and position busbar materials onto the machine's work area, ensuring proper alignment.
  • Regularly inspect punched and bent busbars for dimensional accuracy and quality using measuring instruments.
  • Identify and resolve minor issues or deviations during the punching and bending process.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and protocols while operating the machine.
  • Monitor the manufacturing process to maintain a steady workflow and address inefficiencies.
  • Accurately record production data, machine settings, and maintenance activities.
  • Seek opportunities to improve machining processes, reduce cycle times, and enhance efficiency.
  • Coordinate with supervisors, engineers, and quality control personnel to ensure smooth production flow and meet targets.
  • Perform other projects and duties as assigned.
