Machine Operator – Blending | 1st Shift
About The Position
Elmet Technologies is hiring a 1st Shift Machine Operator – Blending to join our Powder Metallurgy team in Coldwater, Michigan. This is a hands-on manufacturing role where you’ll set up and operate production equipment, monitor manufacturing processes, handle materials, maintain accurate production records, and help keep equipment running safely and efficiently. As you develop your skills, you’ll be expected to cross-train in at least two of our three Powder Metallurgy areas: Blending, Pressing, and Sintering. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- 2–3 years of manufacturing experience
- Comfortable setting up and operating production equipment
- Can follow production instructions and established processes
- Pay close attention to quality and details
- Take safety seriously
- Can accurately complete production records
- Comfortable learning computer-based production systems such as SAP
- Can learn new machines and processes
- Willing to cross-train and work in multiple production areas
- Can work independently and as part of a manufacturing team
- Obtain and maintain the required forklift and crane licenses for the position
Responsibilities
- Set up and safely operate production equipment
- Complete product changeovers based on the production schedule
- Monitor equipment and production processes while they’re running
- Inspect equipment daily and help identify potential problems
- Perform routine Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) activities
- Assist with basic production equipment repairs
- Accurately identify and track material throughout the manufacturing process
- Operate forklifts, cranes, hand carts, industrial tools, and other material-handling equipment
- Complete production records accurately, including OEE records, production logs, screener checks, and work orders
- Complete assigned transactions in SAP, including product confirmations, maintenance work orders, and purchase requisitions
- Maintain 5S housekeeping standards and keep your work area clean and organized
- Support production goals for quality, cost, and delivery
- Cross-train in additional Powder Metallurgy processes as your skills develop
