About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Bindery Operator 3 to oversee finishing processes, operate complex machinery, train junior staff, and troubleshoot equipment issues to meet production deadlines.

Requirements

• Typically 3-5+ years in bindery operations, with experience in complex projects or leadership.
• Expertise in bindery equipment setup, procedures, capabilities, and limitations, including knowledge of paper types.
• Strong mechanical skills for making complex machine adjustments.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 pounds (occasionally 75), and perform repetitive tasks.

Responsibilities

• Set up, adjust, and operate complex bindery machines such as perfect binders, cutters, folders, collators, and stitchers.
• Diagnose and resolve complex operating and mechanical issues, perform routine maintenance, and minimize downtime.
• Monitor production, ensure quality control, and conduct final inspections.
• Direct crew activities, train junior operators, and ensure safety and efficiency.
• Interpret job orders, plan operations, and coordinate with other departments to meet schedules.
• Document production data, maintain records, and follow safety protocols.
