About The Position

The Machine Operator Assistant produces product using high-speed printing equipment while following safety programs and quality assurance systems to support site business goals. The role assists and backs up the Machine Operator, helps prepare and set up equipment and materials, completes production documentation, and maintains a clean and orderly work area. The position is located in Baxter Springs, Kansas, with a schedule of 7 p.m. to 7 a.m., Sunday through Tuesday and every other Saturday. Starting pay is $17.43 per hour.

Requirements

• At least six months of experience in a manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

• Manufacturing experience involving a high-speed process is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist and provide backup to the Machine Operator to produce quality product at target machine speeds using safe work practices.
• Read and understand the Production Order Packet (POP) and prepare machine components for production.
• Read, understand, and correctly complete daily paperwork.
• Follow procedures to requisition or return components and materials, inspect and install them, and complete pre- and post-production activities.
• Assist with setup and changeover activities within the allotted time.
• Participate in assigned preventative maintenance activities.
• Maintain the work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition.
• Perform assigned duties in compliance with company policies and procedures.
• Actively participate in safety programs.
• Communicate effectively with team members across shifts.
• Assist and train other team members as needed.
