About The Position

A Machine Operator Apprentice works under the supervision of experienced machine operators in various industries, such as manufacturing and production. Their role involves a combination of firsthand training and theoretical study to learn how to operate, set up, and maintain machinery. The apprentice is expected to learn the full functions of machine operators during a 90-day training window and then exhibit the necessary skills to run the production line as a machine operator.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in setting up and operating several types of machinery according to company procedures and safety regulations.
  • Perform routine inspections to ensure machinery is in good working order, assist in troubleshooting malfunctions, and perform basic repairs as needed.
  • Observe experienced machine operators to gain knowledge and improve skills.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work area, adhering to company and regulatory safety guidelines.
  • Accurately record machine operation data and report any issues or irregularities to the supervisor.
  • Perform quality control checks to ensure the output meets company standards.
  • Assist in loading and unloading materials onto the machines.
  • Follow all training and instructions related to machine operation, safety protocols, and company policies.
