About The Position

This role is a key position within the Bistro production room and operates and maintains sealing machine equipment. The position supports line efficiency by increasing production, reducing rework, and minimizing downtime. Associates work in a mission-driven environment focused on providing healthy plant-based products and preserving the planet’s resources.

Requirements

• Ability to read, write, and speak English and comprehend basic math.
• Willingness and flexibility to work in a cold, wet, fast-paced, 24-hour plant environment.
• Eagerness to learn and work as part of a team.
• Ability to deliver consistent quality results with urgency and initiative, while demonstrating flexibility to meet business needs.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and reliability.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and frequently move, push, or carry items up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods and move throughout a fast-paced environment, including between the maintenance shop and production floor.
• Ability to ascend and descend stairs or ladders for repairs, and to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Ability to work near moving mechanical parts and in loud, extreme cold and wet conditions, including an environment of 34 degrees, and outdoor weather conditions.
• Ability to exchange accurate information through frequent communication within all levels of the organization.
• Ability to detect, identify, inspect, observe, and assess surroundings.

Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-shift and post-shift quality inspections.
• Perform basic preventative maintenance on equipment when applicable.
• Perform basic troubleshooting.
• Observe production and monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation.
• Manage and reduce product giveaway using the scale system.
• Communicate with and educate other associates to help maintain product quality as it enters the sealing equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe work environment.
• Follow and enforce the 5S Methodology, including maintaining tools and equipment according to 5S marking.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
