Requirements

Manufacturing or Industrial Experience preferred, especially in metal or steel processing.
Mechanical Aptitude — Ability to understand machine functions and make basic adjustments.
Blueprint or Measurement Reading — Ability to read tape measures, calipers, and job specifications.
Attention to Detail — Ensures cuts are accurate and materials meet quality standards.
Physical Capability — Ability to lift, move, and handle steel materials safely.

Responsibilities

Set up, operate, and monitor shear equipment to cut steel sheets, plates, or coils to required dimensions.
Safely load and unload steel using overhead cranes, forklifts, or other material‑handling equipment.
Measure and inspect finished pieces to ensure accuracy and compliance with customer specifications.
Adjust blades, back gauges, and machine settings based on job requirements.
Follow all company and OSHA safety procedures, including PPE use and safe material‑handling practices.
Record production data, material usage, and job completion details accurately.
Perform basic cleaning, lubrication, and routine checks to keep equipment in good working condition.
