The Machine Operator is responsible for operating various machines used to cut, form, bend, shape, and spot-weld fabricated metal parts according to production work orders and specification sheets. This role includes monitoring machinery, performing quality inspections, and maintaining a safe and organized workspace.
Requirements
- Production Machinery (press brake, spotwelder, etc.)
- Scales and measuring equipment
- Tape measure and gauges
- Computer system/scanner
Responsibilities
- Operate production machinery to manufacture metal parts
- Read and interpret work orders and product specifications
- Monitor machines to ensure proper operation and output
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
- Record production data (employee number, work order, part number, scrap, etc.)
- Use computer systems for tracking and reporting
- Stack and package finished products appropriately
- Maintain a clean and safe work area (housekeeping)
- Report to work consistently and on time
