Requirements

  • HS Diploma/GED
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program / contract
  • Previous Manufacturing experience or education or Advanced Manufacturing Certification
  • Strong computer skills

Nice To Haves

  • 2 or more years Machine Operator or Manufacturing Experience
  • Ability to make computations involving decimals and fractions
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously
  • Strong communication skills, verbal and written

Responsibilities

  • Read and interpret work instructions
  • Set up and operate a variety of production equipment and measuring devices. Examples may include milling/grinding machines, furnaces, peening machines, part wash machines, coating machines, airflow/water flow machines, calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.
  • Work from operation sheets, work instructions, part travelers, and oral instruction to set up equipment within the assigned business unit, involving a limited number of surfaces to be machined.
  • Obtain operator certification to be able to accept/reject parts.
  • Maintain machines by performing required total preventative maintenance (TPM).
  • Work collaboratively with engineers, quality assurance, programmers and other production personnel or others to resolve machining problems and assist in part process development (if applicable).
  • Frequently move about the machine line to operate various manufacturing equipment (approximately 90% of the time), bending, reaching, pulling, pushing, transport product and/or equipment weighing up to 10 pounds
  • May be assigned to carry out tasks not specifically listed, within the scope and skill level of this job description in support of department objectives.
