We are seeking a skilled and knowledgeable Surface Mount Technology (SMT) Manufacturing Specialist to join our dynamic team at Spartronics! Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Basic computer literacy and the ability to follow written instructions.
  • Strong hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work standing for extended periods.
  • Ability to read, write, and comprehend English to interpret work instructions, documentation, and safety requirements.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of SMT experience or relevant experience in a manufacturing or technical environment (for Level 2).
  • Ability to interpret basic technical drawings and process instructions (for Level 2).
  • Familiarity with production documentation and SMT software systems (for Level 2).
  • Proven experience with SMT equipment (for Level 2).
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement activities (for Level 2).

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with SMT equipment, including pick-and-place, reflow oven, SPI, and X-ray.
  • Knowledge of IPC-A-610 workmanship standards.
  • Exposure to lean manufacturing or continuous improvement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Operate SMT line equipment, including solder paste printer, SPI setup, pick-and-place machines, and reflow oven.
  • Set up, load reels onto feeders, circuit boards, and materials for SMT line operations.
  • Conduct in-process checks using SPI and X-ray equipment to verify solder quality.
  • Visually inspect circuit boards for obvious defects and escalate issues as needed.
  • Perform changeovers, line setup, and adjustments to maintain production flow.
  • Maintain the cleanliness and organization of SMT workstations and tools.
  • Follow detailed work instructions and comply with ESD and safety protocols.
  • Input product-tracking data to ensure accurate, up-to-date records for quality control and inventory management.
  • Contribute to process documentation, training, and ongoing improvements that drive operational success.
  • Perform other duties or support other areas as needed, based on business requirements or production flow.
  • Must be U.S. persons within the definition of ITAR, with the ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. DoD Security Clearance. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
  • This job requisition may be filled at either Level 1 or Level 2.
