About The Position

This position requires a high sense of urgency with a focus on safety. Duties will include but are not limited to the following, routine maintenance and repair of facility and grounds. Repair and preventative maintenance of a variety of machinery, tools, equipment used in the facility. A strong attention to detail and the ability to work autonomously for long periods of time.

Requirements

High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required.
Basic computer proficiency and functional knowledge with applications and activities.
Strong attention to detail.
Basic math and reading comprehension.
Ability to read and write the English language.
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write appropriate correspondences.
Ability to effectively present information in a one-on-one and small group situation to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Proficient with MS Office.
Minimum 3 years of progressively responsible mechanic experience.

Nice To Haves

Apprenticeship graduate or technical degree helpful.
Aerospace experience preferred.
Aerospace industry is a plus.
Experience/knowledge applicable to fixturing/tooling applications.
Experience with hard metals such as Inconel and titanium is a plus.
Working familiarity with shop planning/tooling.

Responsibilities

Assist with repair or replacement defective equipment parts using hand tools and power tools, and reassemble equipment.
Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure that machines continue to run smoothly, building systems operate efficiently, and the physical condition of buildings does not deteriorate.
Inspect drives, motors, and belts, check fluid levels, replace filters, and perform other maintenance actions, following checklists.
Use tools ranging from common hand and power tools, such as hammers, hoists, saws, drills, and wrenches, to precision measuring instruments and electrical and electronic testing devices.
Assemble, install and/or repair wiring, electrical and electronic components, pipe systems and plumbing, machinery, and equipment.
Inspect, operate, and test machinery and equipment in order to diagnose machine malfunctions.
Record maintenance and repair work performed and the costs of the work.
Clean and lubricate shafts, bearings, gears, and other parts of machinery.
Assist in dismantling devices to gain access to and remove defective parts, using hoists, cranes, hand tools, and power tools
Handling and Moving Objects — Using hands and arms in handling, installing, positioning, and moving materials, and manipulating things.
Communicating with Supervisors, Peers, or Subordinates — Providing information to supervisors, co-workers, and subordinates by telephone, in written form, e-mail, or in person.
Assist with diagnosing mechanical problems and determine how to correct them, checking blueprints, repair manuals, and parts catalogs as necessary.
Other duties as assigned.
