About The Position

The Machine Maintenance Technician II will be responsible for ensuring the optimal functioning, repair, and maintenance of production machinery and equipment. Your primary focus will be to minimize downtime, enhance efficiency, perform electrical or mechanical troubleshooting and contribute to the overall success of the manufacturing process.

Requirements

  • Associate’s degree in electrical or mechanical trade or 4 years of applicable work experience in lieu of education
  • 4+ years of related experience
  • Proven experience as a Machine Maintenance Technician or similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong troubleshooting skills and the ability to think critically to solve complex problems
  • Experience reading and interpreting technical manuals, blueprints, and schematics
  • Experience with various hand and power tools to perform the job
  • Knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and other automation systems
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational training in machine maintenance or related technical fields is preferred
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
  • Forklift preferred experience

Responsibilities

  • Lead routine inspections and preventive maintenance, including scheduling, on manufacturing equipment to identify and address potential issues before they escalate
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose malfunctions in machinery, using a systematic approach to identify root causes and implement corrective actions
  • Perform repairs and replace defective parts as needed, utilizing a variety of hand and power tools
  • Collaborate with and provide recommendations to the production team to optimize machine performance and minimize downtime
  • Identify and implement improvements to enhance the efficiency and reliability of manufacturing equipment
  • Participate in equipment upgrades and modifications as required
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work orders, equipment manuals, and inventory of spare parts
  • Generate reports on machine performance, maintenance activities, and any issues encountered
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines while performing maintenance tasks
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards for machine safety and operation
  • Track outstanding equipment orders and communicate updates to management
  • Lead the training of junior maintenance technicians and provide guidance as needed
  • Assist engineering with the purchase and installation of new equipment
