This position is for the first shift, Monday through Friday.

Requirements

  • Read and write and speak English.
  • Knowledge of sewing machines and other equipment in department.
  • Must be computer literate.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a facilities maintenance and equipment repair-related job preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Daily maintenance and minor repairs on various sewing machines and other equipment.
  • Look for and suggest ways to improve processes.
  • Record downtime and other maintenance performance data.
  • Anything else deemed necessary.
  • Effectively communicate with multiple department supervisors and managers in order to prevent and resolve issues with machinery and other equipment.
  • Receive assignments from Lead Person/Facilities Manager.
  • Diagnose mechanical issues and correct them.
  • Fill in for other maintenance technicians as needed.
  • Complete scheduled preventative maintenance activities.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision (Level 2+).
  • Assist in the start-up of new products and projects (Level 2+).
  • Interact with the Purchasing Department and/or outside vendor technicians (Level 2+).
  • Responsible for ordering and monitoring inventory (Level 2+).
  • Diagnose and resolve basic electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues (Level 2+).
  • Oversee the overall maintenance and repair of assigned equipment (Maintenance Lead).
  • Coordinate activities with all production support departments so that a smooth flow continues in the manufacturing process (Maintenance Lead).
  • Complete complex assignments as given by the Facilities Manager (Maintenance Lead).
  • Knowledgeable of all corporate policies and procedures (Maintenance Lead).
  • Responsible for enforcing safety procedures and programs affecting the department (Maintenance Lead).
  • Responsible for documenting all machine maintenance (Maintenance Lead).
  • Research and present new ideas for both equipment and processes to improve overall production (Maintenance Lead).
  • Ensure that quality records are kept updated as required (Maintenance Lead).
  • Diagnose mechanical and intermediate level electrical issues and correct them (Maintenance Lead).
  • Basic electronic troubleshooting skills (Maintenance Lead).
  • Train new personnel (Maintenance Lead).
