About The Position

The Molding Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading all day-to-day equipment maintenance activities within the Molding Department in alignment with company policies and production schedules. This role ensures the effective utilization of maintenance, automation, and project engineering resources while fostering a proactive, team-oriented environment. The position plays a key role in driving operational excellence, continuous improvement, and adherence to safety, quality, and compliance standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience in a manufacturing environment with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • At least 5 years of experience in plastics processing, injection molding maintenance, automation, engineering, or high-speed production/assembly operations.
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop employees.
  • Demonstrated technical, business, and organizational acumen.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize, analyze data, and respond effectively to changing business conditions.
  • Working knowledge of manufacturing operations and ability to quickly learn company procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and resource management or maintenance systems (CMMS).

Responsibilities

  • Lead Molding Maintenance operations to achieve plant safety, quality, and productivity objectives.
  • Manage and coordinate maintenance activities across all shifts, ensuring timely and effective support of production operations.
  • Collaborate with Molding and cross-functional support teams to meet production requirements and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Direct and develop leadership team members; establish departmental procedures, priorities, and performance expectations.
  • Oversee employee performance, development, and engagement to maintain a high-performing team.
  • Identify and implement cost-saving initiatives, efficiency improvements, and process enhancements.
  • Utilize plant reporting and accounting systems to monitor costs, recommend capital investments, and deliver cost reductions.
  • Ensure completion of corrective actions and thorough root cause analysis for maintenance and production issues.
  • Lead cross-functional teams in addressing safety, quality, scrap, downtime, and operational challenges.
  • Enforce compliance with company policies, safety regulations, quality standards, GMP, and SQF requirements.
  • Manage employee relations, including coaching, training, performance management, and disciplinary actions; participate in hiring and termination decisions.
  • Ensure accuracy and integrity of production reporting and employee timekeeping.
  • Partner with the Quality department to investigate and resolve internal and customer-related quality concerns.
