About The Position

CD PROJEKT RED is seeking a Machine Learning Researcher to join its R&D Team and explore potential new features for game development. The role focuses on pushing the boundaries of computational narratology: using techniques to understand and react to narrative text, rather than generate it. The position may be performed hybrid/in-office or fully remotely and is a new role.

Requirements

Sophisticated experimental NLP background in academic or industrial research.
Five or more years of programming experience.
Fluency in Python and C++ or Unreal C++.
Intellectually curious, ambitious, open-minded, and proactive.
Able to take high-level goals, plan and drive work forward, and be accountable for results.

Nice To Haves

Game development experience, especially in Unreal Engine.
Relevant publications in narratology.
Personal projects in machine learning.

Responsibilities

Architect and build machine learning systems for complex narrative analysis.
Quantitatively improve key NLP models by designing and/or integrating new models.
Leverage cloud infrastructure effectively for training and serving.
Stay current with the state of the art in relevant topics.
Present results internally and possibly at external conferences.
Optimize machine learning systems for cost, latency, and quality.
Facilitate deployment of results in demonstrations.
