About The Position

AeroVironment’s paid Summer Internship Program offers students an immersive, hands-on experience in the aerospace and defense industry. Interns work alongside AV team members on meaningful projects, developing professional relationships, problem-solving skills, and practical experience in a full-time work environment. This is a 12-week, onsite internship for motivated students currently enrolled in college or recent graduates. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 GPA; students at the junior level or above are preferred. Internship opportunities are offered across teams and locations throughout the United States. Team, location, and program details are discussed during the interview process. Depending on the team and location, interns willing to relocate may be eligible for a relocation and housing reimbursement stipend. The Machine Learning Intern supports the R&D Group in developing computer vision solutions for defense and commercial applications. Working on small, focused design teams, the intern contributes to detection, classification, localization, and tracking technologies and gains exposure to concept design, prototyping, testing, and evaluation.
