Machine Learning Engineer, GAI Search Relevance - Moveworks
About The Position
Moveworks is seeking a search relevance engineer to help improve a search-based question-answering platform. The Search product uses information retrieval and natural language understanding to retrieve, match, and rank text snippets from heterogeneous knowledge sources as direct answers to enterprise users’ requests. The engineer will help improve answer quality by addressing challenges including lexical gaps, semantic text understanding, and data sparsity. The role works with product, user experience, customer success, and engineering teams to identify, define, and build solutions.
Requirements
- First-hand experience with traditional information retrieval techniques or machine-learning-based ranking models.
- Ability to derive insights from query-log analysis and identify opportunities to improve search quality.
- Background in text processing, information retrieval, natural language understanding, or machine learning.
Nice To Haves
- Experience in Golang.
Responsibilities
- Craft new ranking features and optimize existing features to enhance relevance metrics.
- Develop an algorithm framework that supports diversified ranking features.
- Design a platform and tooling to enable parallel ranking experiments.
- Develop metrics to evaluate ranking performance.
