About The Position

Reddit is hiring a Machine Learning Engineer to design, build, and deploy industrial-level machine learning models for ad ranking, bidding, and optimization. The role owns the machine learning lifecycle, from ideation and research through scalable serving systems and production model maintenance. It also involves feature engineering, collaboration with product managers, data scientists, and engineers, and improving system reliability through monitoring, alerting, and automated retraining pipelines. The engineer will research algorithms, keep up with state-of-the-art machine learning techniques, and contribute to the team’s strategy and roadmap. The position is hybrid, based at Reddit’s San Francisco, California offices, with part-time telecommuting available as an option.

Requirements

Master’s degree or foreign degree equivalent in Computer Science, Robotics, Engineering (any field), or a related quantitative discipline.
Two years of experience in the job offered or in an occupation in a related field.
Special skills: PII data handling, Kafka infrastructure, data governance, batch data pipelines, SLOs, graph service, machine learning models, XGBoost, LLMs, and Google Cloud Platform.
Any suitable combination of education, training, and experience is acceptable.

Responsibilities

Design, build, and deploy industrial-level machine learning models for ad ranking, bidding, and optimization.
Own the machine learning lifecycle, from ideation and research to building scalable serving systems and maintaining models in production.
Perform systematic feature engineering to transform raw, diverse data into high-quality features.
Work with product managers, data scientists, and engineers to translate business challenges into machine learning solutions.
Build monitoring, alerting, and automated retraining pipelines to improve the reliability and stability of machine learning systems.
Research algorithms, stay current with state-of-the-art machine learning techniques, and contribute to the team’s strategy and roadmap.
