About The Position

This role involves researching and implementing advanced deep learning models for computer vision tasks such as object detection, identification, tracking, and comparison. The focus is on developing generalized AI solutions capable of few-shot learning in data-scarce environments. The position will execute proof-of-concepts with customers in machine learning, deep learning, and computer vision to create innovative algorithms and solutions for smart industry, social innovation, and the Internet of Things. Successful proof-of-concepts will be commercialized, and intellectual property will be protected through patents and publications in leading venues to establish Hitachi as a leader in big data and advanced analytics. The role also includes conducting research to solve challenging problems in the industrial domain and co-innovating with customers by developing novel machine learning/deep learning and natural language processing techniques. This involves understanding customer problems, applying mathematical formulation, analyzing customer data, implementing concepts, testing hypotheses through experimentation, and collaborating with customers to meet their business needs and deliver robust end-user solutions. The position will contribute to developing state-of-the-art Industrial AI, applying AI and ML to solve real-world industrial and societal challenges. Research problem-solving involves formulating hypotheses, proposing mathematical formulations, solving them, and testing/refining solutions theoretically or on data. Projects will involve a combination of commercialization, patenting, and research paper publication. The role requires presenting research works to external venues and participating in internal research workshops and conferences.
