About The Position

This role supports a high-volume, deadline-driven print and mailroom production floor environment. This role will operate large production class machine inserters, fold and insert documents into various envelop types, apply postage, and ensure timely and accurate completion of mailing tasks.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in English.
  • Possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Ability to work standing for extended periods of time.
  • Capable of lifting 50 pounds unassisted.

Nice To Haves

  • 0-1 year of experience operating or setting up production or insertion machines in a manufacturing environment (preferred, not always required).
  • Experience working in fast-paced, repetitive production settings in the print, mail, fulfillment environment is a plus.
  • Familiarity with operating Pitney Bowes (FlowMaster, Rival) or BlueCrest inserting systems and postal sorting equipment.
  • Working knowledge of additional lettershop machinery such as Bell & Howell inserters, folders, tabbers, and postage meters.
  • Skilled in making minor adjustments to maintain quality and production flow.
  • Strong attention to accuracy and detail to ensure correct materials and inserts are used.
  • Capable of identifying and resolving common production issues such as jams, misfeeds, or alignment errors.
  • Able to perform routine quality checks and verify completeness and accuracy of each mailing job.
  • Basic computer skills for job tracking, data entry, or scanning barcodes.
  • Dependable, safety-conscious, and able to meet daily production goals.
  • Effective communicator and team player with a focus on maintaining a clean and organized work area.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with basic setup and operation of inserter equipment
  • Load materials and monitor run for jams or misfeeds
  • Perform basic quality checks for folds, inserts, and envelope placement
  • Follow work instructions, production schedules, and safety procedures
  • Replenish envelopes, inserts, and paper stock during production runs
  • Sort, stage, and prepare completed mail trays or finished output for the next step in production
  • Report machine issues, damaged materials, or quality concerns to the supervisor promptly
  • Maintain a clean work area and record production counts
  • Other duties as assigned
