Machine/Equipment Operator - 3rd Shift

About The Position

This role serves as a member of ITW Medical, responsible for the quality and production of machines for distribution to customers. The operator ensures machines operate according to all Manufacturing Instructions and Operating Procedures, practices courtesy and helpfulness among team members, and becomes fully trained in all areas of machine operation as per Standard Operating Procedures. The position requires adherence to all ITW Medical rules and regulations, performing end-of-day clean-up duties, and other required housekeeping. The operator will conduct initial inspections of manufactured parts for defects, escalate issues as required, and record all activities of the assigned shift by completing proper forms such as job activity sheets and break sheets. Communication with the shift lead and QC inspectors, replenishing raw materials when needed, and reporting machine issues to technicians are also key responsibilities. The role emphasizes good manufacturing practices, knowledge of Environmental Health & Safety, and knowledge of Quality Checks.

Requirements

  • 0-1 years of experience.
  • Ability to read and comprehend Operating Instructions and Manufacturing Specifications for the work performed.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute ratios and percentages.
  • Corrected eyesight of 20/20 for the visual quality inspections performed on parts.
  • Basic Computer Skills – Data Entry, Common Searches, and other custom software packages specific to the business.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial inspection of manufactured parts for defects; escalate issues as required
  • Record all activities of assigned shift by completing proper forms, i.e. job activity sheets, break sheets, etc.
  • Communicate with the shift lead and QC inspectors
  • Replenish raw materials when needed
  • Report machine issues to technicians
  • Perform end of the day clean up duties as required, and any other required housekeeping.
