About The Position

Thales is seeking a 3rd Shift Machine Operator to join their team in North Kingstown, RI. This on-site position involves operating various card production equipment to personalize debit/credit cards according to customer specifications. The role requires collaboration with other operators, technicians, and supervisory staff to meet daily and monthly goals. Responsibilities include performing minor equipment maintenance and adjustments, conducting quality inspections, identifying potential production and quality issues, and ensuring compliance with all security and production policies and procedures. Basic computer skills are necessary for this role.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience
  • Basic computer skills
  • Basic math skills required
  • Good communication skills in both written and verbal
  • Strong analytical, numerical and reasoning abilities
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Ability to establish credibility and be decisive – but able to recognize and support the organization’s preferences and priorities

Nice To Haves

  • 1-3 years’ experience in mechanical ability
  • 1-3 years’ experience in safety rules and maintenance instructions
  • Intermediate computer skills

Responsibilities

  • Operate card production equipment and perform related activities in a high-paced environment.
  • Confirm work receipt and formulate/implement work priority decisions.
  • Exceed production output and quality standards.
  • Perform minor equipment maintenance and adjustments per written and oral instructions.
  • Work independently performing quality inspections on own work to production standards.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Identify potential production and quality problems and recommend remedial, corrective, or contingency action.
  • Work with other operators, technicians, and supervisory staff to assist with problems and foster an effective work environment.
  • Ensure awareness and compliance with all security and production policies/procedures.
  • Maintain housekeeping standards of workstation.
  • Order supplies as needed.
  • Attend appropriate training and meetings as required.
  • Meet safety standards.
