Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering required
4+ years of machine design experience
Ability to work independently with sound judgment and initiative
Strong problem‑solving skills for complex technical challenges
Experience collaborating across business functions and contributing to team success
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Commitment to quality, safety, and continuous improvement
Customer‑focused mindset with ability to meet internal and external needs
Ability to support peer learning and contribute to knowledge sharing
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks such as climbing, kneeling, or balancing

Responsibilities

Design new high‑speed packaging automation machinery for efficiency, durability, and cost‑effectiveness
Develop new equipment and standardize existing machine designs
Provide hands‑on troubleshooting support for manufacturing and assembly issues
Improve and update current product lines using new tools, materials, and lessons learned
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to ensure machines are built to specification
Lead or facilitate technical design reviews to support knowledge sharing and peer development
Apply critical thinking to resolve complex technical challenges independently
Generate innovative ideas to improve equipment, processes, and engineering outcomes
Work collaboratively with suppliers and Applied partners
Contribute to projects that impact communities in Fergus Falls, Willmar, Osakis, and Glenwood, and the greater Alexandria, MN metro
