About The Position

The Machine Builder is responsible for supporting the Assembly Department. Assemble custom equipment using blueprints and a range of hand tools. Work with fluid power pneumatic and hydraulic actuators, valves, and controls. Requirements

  • Mechanical assembly experience, skills may be based on previous automotive repair or maintenance position
  • 3 – 5 years related experience
  • Must enjoy working in a team environment, and have strong interpersonal and collaboration skills who is committed to providing our customers with the highest quality
  • Ability to work independently and exercise independent judgment
  • Ability to read a print
  • Ability to operate small hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment
  • advanced math and precision measuring skills
  • Strong mechanical aptitude
  • Must have analytical, technical and demonstrated problem-solving skills
  • Must have valid driver's license and is authorized to work in U.S.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to wire industrial electrical panels a plus

Responsibilities

  • Support and work along PLC Programmer commissioning and testing of new machinery or equipment upgrades
  • Assemble automation equipment, from simple machines to complete systems
  • Electrical and mechanical installation of automation components such as laser marking, vision systems, test equipment, VFDs
  • Provide technical support and training to customers
  • Work with the Design Department and Controls Department with development, design and implementation, prioritization of work and execution of projects delivered on-time
  • Read, interpret, and understand electrical schematics and drawings including identifying parts to drawing, symbol recognition and material recognition
  • Coordinate layout and design of electrical systems
  • Ability to develop and maintain in-depth and up-to-date technical knowledge
  • Testing and troubleshooting of electrical systems
  • Organization skills, i.e. for documents, demos, work area and time management
  • Possess the ability to multi-task and bring multiple projects to completion
  • Willing to work weekends and overtime as needed
  • Must be an active team player to support, accept responsibility and collaborate with the team; have effective skills in interpersonal communication, problem solving, critical thinking, empathy, and building relationships; and use independent judgment, creativity, and initiative
  • Travel up to 20%; same day and overnight; may have occasional international travel
  • Install and service calls, work with install team setting up systems or machines
