About The Position

The Machine Adjuster is responsible for adjusting merchandise, grocery, or sack paper bag machines and supervising Machine Operators and Utility persons. The role works with the Production Shift Supervisor and HR to support safe, high-quality, productive manufacturing operations, including machine setup, changeovers, adjustments, repairs, reporting, crew scheduling, and employee training.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Production experience in a manufacturing environment.
Machine Operator manufacturing experience.
Solid mechanical aptitude.
Ability to review manufactured products and determine equipment adjustments needed to achieve quality and production standards.
Ability to provide clear instructions and communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
Ability to perform basic math functions.
Self-directed time management skills.
Normal vision with regard to color.
Physical ability to meet the listed requirements, including lifting and carrying at least 50 pounds, and performing the specified pushing, pulling, reaching, walking, standing, kneeling, bending, and climbing activities.
Ability to operate a forklift, scissor lift, or other vehicle.
Visual ability, ability to distinguish color, and hearing ability.

Responsibilities

Ensure all work is performed safely and production crews follow safety and housekeeping procedures.
Work with the Production Shift Supervisor and HR to direct Machine Operators and Utility persons toward the highest possible manufacturing performance.
Ensure Machine Operators follow all quality and inspection programs.
Perform machine setups and order changeovers.
Adjust and repair machines as needed.
Complete daily production reporting.
Monitor production crews’ work and break schedules.
Request disciplinary action.
Train new employees.
