About The Position

Apple is seeking a self-driven, hardworking electrical engineer to support Mac product design, testing, characterization, failure analysis, and manufacturing. The role contributes to next-generation mobile Mac products from concept through mass production, taking ownership of characterization and debugging frameworks and helping optimize Mac system quality. The engineer will work with cross-functional engineering teams and serve as the electrical engineering technical contact at an OEM site, supporting engineering activities and factory issues. The position includes local-site electrical characterization, test-report analysis, lab investigations, software development to improve workflows, and support for post-ramp quality issues. The role may require travel to support worldwide operations.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in an electrical engineering-related major.
  • Hands-on electrical engineering laboratory experience and familiarity with equipment such as oscilloscopes, power sources, electronic loads, and TDRs.
  • Familiarity with laboratory activities such as board or system bring-up and issue debugging, and sensitivity to circuit behavior.
  • Programming or scripting skills, such as Python or Shell, for automating laboratory setups, programming test instruments, parsing engineering data, and streamlining repetitive tasks.
  • Proven electrical engineering knowledge in at least one of these areas: power design, EMC, signal or power integrity, or industry-standard protocols such as DP, USB, I2C/SPI, SDIO, or SPMI.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills in both English and Chinese.
  • Highly proactive, able to drive tasks independently, and able to adapt quickly to fast-moving project schedules.
  • Strong leadership and team-collaboration skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Direct experience in high-volume consumer electronics, such as smartphones, laptops, drones, or wearable devices.
  • Familiarity with building and deploying web tools.
  • Knowledge of databases such as SQLite or PostgreSQL and web frameworks such as Django, Flask, or React.
  • Experience using AI tools and frameworks, such as large language models or machine-learning algorithms, to automate tasks, analyze engineering data, or improve daily workflows.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in the design and development of next-generation mobile Mac products from concept through mass production.
  • Own characterization and debugging frameworks for Mac platforms.
  • Support electrical engineering characterization at the local site, analyze test reports, draw conclusions, and perform laboratory analysis.
  • Participate in online and offline software development to optimize workflows, improve efficiency, and improve results.
  • Serve as the electrical engineering technical contact at the OEM site and support engineering activities.
  • Represent the electrical engineering team in a multifunctional team environment.
  • Help the factory resolve electrical engineering issues and drive post-ramp quality issues.
  • Manage vendor electrical engineering resources to improve technical support.
  • Enhance test coverage and optimize test methods.
