About The Position

The MA/MS Emergency Evaluator - Shift 3 at LIFESTREAM BEHAVIORAL CENTER is responsible for providing comprehensive emergency mental health evaluations and crisis intervention services. The role requires the evaluator to assess the mental health needs of individuals in crisis, determine appropriate levels of care, and facilitate admissions or referrals to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in crisis intervention or emergency evaluation within a behavioral health setting.
  • Proven track record of working with individuals experiencing acute psychological distress or mental health emergencies.
  • Experience in collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement crisis management plans.
  • Strong assessment and diagnostic skills with the ability to evaluate mental health emergencies accurately and efficiently.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
  • Ability to remain calm and composed under pressure while making critical decisions in high-stress situations.
  • Proficient in using electronic health records and other clinical documentation systems.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations pertaining to mental health services and emergency interventions.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough emergency mental health evaluations for individuals presenting in crisis.
  • Assess clients' mental health status, risk factors, and immediate needs to determine appropriate interventions.
  • Develop and implement crisis intervention plans to stabilize clients and provide immediate support.
  • Collaborate with medical staff, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure continuity of services.
  • Facilitate admissions to appropriate inpatient or outpatient programs based on evaluation findings.
  • Provide clear and concise documentation of assessments, interventions, and recommendations in clients' records.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of mental health resources and referral options within the community.
  • Participate in ongoing training and development to enhance skills and knowledge in emergency mental health evaluation and crisis intervention.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, ethical, and organizational standards related to mental health assessments and interventions.
  • Work collaboratively with law enforcement, emergency services, and other community partners to ensure the safety and well-being of clients.
