About The Position

The MA/LPN provides medical assistance to a physician or nurse practitioner and supports patients in a professional, caring, efficient, and compassionate manner. The role handles patient phone calls and office patient care, and performs EKGs and CLIA-waived tests as appropriate. The position is scheduled for 40 hours per week, Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• Good working knowledge of CPT and ICD-10 coding.
• Current BLS certification through an ILCOR-provided course that includes a manikin check-off.
• Ability to maintain composure under difficult and stressful conditions.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work independently with little supervision.
• Tact and diplomacy in interpersonal skills.
• For LPN applicants: a Licensed Practical Nurse diploma from an accredited school and a current Licensed Practical Nursing license.
• For Medical Assistant applicants: certification from an accredited Medical Assistant program or equivalent on-the-job training consisting of three or more years.
• Must possess good physical health and be able to stand, sit, or walk for long periods, lift at least 50 pounds, and work with a moderate level of noise.

Nice To Haves

• Completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
• Two to five years of experience in a physician office setting.
• Physician’s office experience.
• Experience with EPIC (EMR) and insurance processes in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical assistance to a physician or nurse practitioner.
