About The Position

The City of Philadelphia is seeking an M365 Consultant for a 12+ month onsite engagement. This role involves providing expert consultation, training, and technical leadership for Microsoft 365 applications and products, with a strong focus on SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Power Apps, Exchange, and Purview. The consultant will also be responsible for developing governance strategies, championing M365 adoption, mentoring junior team members, and collaborating with the broader IT community. Regular reporting to a supervisor and attendance at various meetings and training sessions are also key aspects of this position.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years’ experience with M365 applications and products, especially with SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams (including Voice and Rooms), and Exchange
  • At least 5 years’ experience scripting in PowerShell, with particular experience in writing code reviews and using code repositories
  • At least 3 years’ experience offering and leading consultations to diverse groups of clients, including technical staff and business/programmatic staff
  • At least 3 years’ experience preparing, delivering, and leading trainings
  • Able to track and complete tasks independently
  • Able to complete an FBI background check for CJIS clearance
  • Able to complete training for HIPAA compliance within the HIPAA training requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with M365 products for preparing, delivering, and leading trainings is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Microsoft’s GCC licensing suite
  • Experience with Power Apps

Responsibilities

  • Consult on use of M365 applications and products as needed
  • Offer regular scheduled training in the use of M365 applications and products
  • Serve as the resident technical expert for M365, with particular focus on SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Power Apps, Exchange, and Purview
  • Act as the arbiter of coming changes, feature updates, and new features for M365 products and applications
  • Develop power apps and SharePoint governance
  • Champion and lead changes in the IT environment regarding M365 products and assist with the adoption of an evergreen mentality for changes to applications and products
  • Join our PE team as an active, supportive, guiding member, with particular emphasis toward mentoring more junior members and offering opportunities for growth and knowledge transfer
  • Develop and maintain relationships with other members of the city's IT community
  • Report at least weekly to supervisor on successes, blockers, and issues, and be able to raise potential issues before they arise
  • Attend meetings, training, presentations, and consultations on-site and at city buildings other than the assigned office space as needed
  • Coordinate with the Learning Management System team to provide technical training and support
