About The Position

Under the direct supervision of the Chassis M&R Rover Lead and the Business Capture & Development Manager, the Chassis M&R Rover performs routine preventive maintenance and repair of containers, trailers, and chassis outside of the Seafix Chassis Repair Shop.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED)
  • One (1) year of verifiable mechanical experience
  • Driver’s License
  • Valid Guam Driver’s License with Class A endorsement required; Class B Preferred.
  • Government Access (to be obtained during employment)
  • Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) required.
  • Defense Biometric Identification System (DBIDS) Credential required.
  • Knowledge of a variety of body, preventative maintenance and repair of gas/diesel vehicles.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients and other employees of the organization.
  • Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Must be able to operate a PC, MS Excel, MS Word, MS Windows, MS power point.
  • Operate a multi-line telephone, telex, fax and other office equipment.
  • Maintaining working relations with staff and the public.
  • Recognizing and maintaining strict confidentiality of work material.
  • Working independently in the absence of supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Four (4) years’ experience in chassis repair and maintenance

Responsibilities

  • Conducts routine/scheduled maintenance on leased/owned containers and chassis.
  • Repairs equipment in accordance with manufacturer & FMCSA guidelines.
  • Documents repair according to an established reporting system, verbally and in writing.
  • Repairs tires, brakes, lights, landing leg and framework.
  • Perform light welding when required.
  • Determine unit condition by conducting inspections, diagnostic tests, and identifying deficiencies.
  • Diagnosis and repair of electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake and air systems on various pieces of equipment and trucks.
  • Perform basic preventative maintenance services on various pieces of equipment.
  • Utilize manufacturer software programs associated with repairing and diagnosing equipment.
  • Ability to clearly document repair and work efforts.
  • Maintain a safe & organized work environment.
