About The Position

The M/E Engineer 3 will complete increasingly complex mechanical, electrical and field construction activities. This position will be responsible for collecting and assembling data, developing estimates and generating systems and bid analysis. All activities will be performed in support of the strategy, vision and values of JE Dunn.

In addition, this position will be responsible for completing increasingly complex mechanical, electrical and field construction activities. It will develop budgetary M/E estimates, based upon program and schematic design information. The role will review mechanical and electrical options, complete systems analysis, recommend the best system for the project and provide value engineering suggestions. It will coordinate the mechanical and electrical scopes of work during the bid process, develop sequencing requirements of various systems and provide solutions to meet the schedule requirements, and provide scheduling input during projects. The role will review design documents and identify potential quality problems, help develop quality control programs, and perform job inspections at various times in the project to ensure specifications and expectations are met and work is completed in a quality manner. It will develop pre-functional checklists and functional testing procedures, and verify contractor’s performance of functional test. The role will review and approve shop drawings prior to submitting to design team, generate and issue the Commissioning Plan for approval to the appropriate parties, and verify deficiencies are corrected and submit commissioning documentation to owners. It will provide mentoring to less experienced co-workers and create M/E tools and innovative solutions to continuously improve processes and work products. The role will also lead, support and promote a culture of diversity and inclusion within JE Dunn, understanding JE Dunn’s policy of non-discrimination and ensuring positive, proactive implementation throughout the organization.

Requirements

• Ability to perform work accurately and completely, and in a timely manner.
• Communication skills, verbal and written (Intermediate).
• Proficiency in MS Office (Intermediate).
• Ability to read and understand plans, drawings and specifications.
• Develops proficiency in basic JE Dunn construction M/E tools and software.
• Knowledge of means and methods of construction management.
• Ability to build relationships and collaborate within a team, internally and externally.
• Valid and unrestricted drivers license required

• Gains knowledge of design documents in order to identify potential quality problems to assist in developing constructability review reports.
• Learns to perform job inspections to ensure specifications and expectations are met and work is completed in a quality and timely manner.

• Base compensation between $110,000 and $135,000 depending on experience
• Eligible to receive a target bonus based on both individual and company performance
