About The Position

The Building Operator is responsible for the operation, maintenance, and monitoring of mechanical and electrical systems essential to building operations. As a key member of the technical operations team, you ensure optimal and safe equipment performance, contributing directly to energy efficiency, occupant comfort, and facility reliability at JLL properties. Your technical expertise ensures regulatory compliance and supports the company's operational objectives.

Requirements

• Class 2B Stationary Engineer Certificate issued by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec (RBQ) or equivalent provincial certification
• Knowledge of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and power generation systems
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical and electrical drawings
• Troubleshooting and technical problem-solving skills
• Ability to work rotating shifts (day, evening, night) and be available for emergencies
• Strong written and oral communication skills in French

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Building Management Systems (BMS) and automation
• Knowledge of Honeywell, Johnson Controls, or similar control systems
• Training in electrical or refrigeration systems
• Ability to communicate in English (an asset)
• Experience in large-scale commercial or institutional environments
• First Aid and CPR certification

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC), refrigeration, and power generation systems
• Conduct regular inspection rounds to monitor equipment performance and identify anomalies
• Respond to equipment alarms and failures, perform troubleshooting and necessary repairs
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on mechanical, electrical, and control equipment
• Record operational data, interventions, and equipment readings in appropriate logs
• Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for specialized work
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, building codes, and environmental regulations
