About The Position

United Flow Technologies is a platform established in July 2021 to invest in the municipal and industrial water and wastewater market. UFT has partnered with market leading businesses to create a national provider of process, pump, automation & control, and other equipment solutions. And we’re just getting started making strategic partnerships to provide clean water across the country! The M&A Associate will play a critical role, helping to drive acquisition execution from start to finish, including interfacing directly with potential acquisition targets to complete preliminary opportunity review, underwriting, and full diligence (including completing internal quality of earnings work and supporting third-party quality of earnings resources). This position will report to the Senior Vice President of M&A.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience in consulting, investment banking, private equity, transaction advisory services, or corporate development.
  • Financial modeling, valuation techniques, data analysis, accounting, corporate law experience/ skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Professional.
  • Accurate communication (verbal and written), interpersonal skills, curiosity, critical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail, agency, teamwork, adaptability, strong work ethic.
  • Willingness and ability to travel regularly (~25% travel required).
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business, economics, or a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Identify new acquisition opportunities by researching the competitive landscape and potential new business models.
  • Identify organic and acquisition growth potential by collaborating with existing UFT business leaders.
  • Thoroughly examine potential acquisitions’ financial results, operations, personnel, and legal/tax/insurance profiles to determine cultural fit and identify potential risks and opportunities.
  • Value potential acquisition opportunities with financial models and various valuation techniques (e.g. discounted cash flow, comparable company analysis).
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with potential partner firms (CEOs, CFOs, etc.), interacting with them regularly on phone calls, video calls, and in person meetings and managing their expectations throughout the transaction lifecycle.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate acquired businesses smoothly, align processes and systems, and realize the value expected from the transactions.
